A man died after a helicopter crashed 200 yards from a motorway last night. The aircraft crashed into a hedgerow beside the M40 near Bicester, Oxfordshire, just before 7pm.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said the dead man, who is believed to live locally, was the pilot of the twin-seater Squirrel helicopter. It is thought no one else was on board.
