i Editor's Letter: Time to throw another bash

Regular readers will know that we like a party here at i, and unlike some media organisations, we prefer them simply to be an opportunity to meet, greet and say thanks to all of you – or as many of you as we can squeeze in. There is such a thing as free canapes. We have no agenda.

So, as we approach our 500th edition (where does the time go?), we thought it was time to throw another bash. After the success of recent events in Birmingham and Manchester, it's time we returned to the capital. On Wednesday 13 June (7pm-9pm) we will be hosting an event in the fascinating space that is the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden.

As well as the opportunity to meet those of the team we let out for the evening, you will also be able to tour the museum and its new Mind the Map exhibition, about the history and creativity behind London's transport maps.

If you fancy an opportunity to tell us in person what you think of our news, opinion and features coverage, or would simply like to harangue me about crosswords, then all you have to do is email us on  i@independent.co.uk putting the word "party" in your subject line. Tickets (for you and a guest) are – as always – on a first-come, first-served basis.

There will be a smattering of i's columnists in attendance, but as their security consultants insist I don't tell you which ones this far ahead, no promises. Amol Rajan may be one of them, so you can tell him how much you agree with his contrarian view on Ryanair in yesterday's paper. Unexpectedly, it struck a real chord. To me that's one of the joys of editing i. You're all so ... independent-minded!
