Police and Customs officers have made their first major seizure of drugs being smuggled through the Channel tunnel, it emerged yesterday.
About 25,000 tablets of ecstasy, with a street value of pounds 400,000, were found in the spare tyre of a Ford Granada on Thursday night following a surveillance operation through Belgium and France.
