Knife attack

A housewife watched the violent thriller Basic Instinct, then went out and stabbed a sailor she picked up at random, Portsmouth Crown Court was told. Vanessa Ballantyne, 41, of Southsea, admitted causing grievous bodily harm and was committed to hospital under the Mental Health Act.
