Three IRA suspects arrested in near Limerick were last night being held for questioning under anti-terrorist detention powers.

They include the Brixton prison escaper, Nessan Quinlivan, subject of a British extradition application. The arrests came amid a crackdown on republican suspects, following the IRA's return to violence.
