A BRITISH woman who had links with a Mafia family has been freed from prison in Italy, her solicitor said yesterday.
Marisa Merico, 27, from Poulton-le-Fylde, near Blackpool, Lancashire, served three years in the UK for money-laundering offences before she was extradited to Italy a year ago and sentenced to six years on similar charges. But an appeal was lodged on legal grounds andAppeal Court judges in Rome released her on Friday.
