Joan `Miss Marple' Hickson dies

ACTRESS Joan Hickson, best known for her role as Miss Marple in the acclaimed BBC television series, died at the age of 92 in Essex on Saturday. Ms Hickson made her acting debut in 1927 and enjoyed a long and varied career, but it was the role of the shrewd amateur detective that made her an international star. Obituary, Review, page 6
