Lawrence inquiry under attack

THE LEADER of rank-and-file police in London yesterday launched an attack on the "stage managed" inquiry into the murder of black teenager Stephen Lawrence. The hearings were undermining race relations, exactly as the "militants and agitators" involved wanted, said Sgt Mike Bennett, chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation.
