A LANDSCAPE in D H Lawrence's novel, The Rainbow, was yesterday saved from mining development. A High Court judge overturned a decision by Environment Secretary John Prescott allowing RJB Mining (UK) Ltd to extract coal at Shortwood Farm, Cossall, Notts.
