Mass suicide attempt in jail

TWENTY-SIX jail inmates stabbed themselves in the stomach in an attempted mass suicide to protest at prison conditions in Kazakhstan. The attempted suicides, all with handmade knives, took place in Atyrau, 900 miles west of the capital, Astana, the Interior Ministry said.
