To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Reporters Without Borders, in partnership with Hi-media Publishing, is launching a temporary site, Fallberlinwall.com, through which users are invited to symbolically destroy a virtual wall, brick by brick, by sending text messages.

The site will be accessible in 48 countries including the United States and the United Kingdom starting on November 9, the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Users will be able to choose one or more bricks of the virtual wall to destroy by sending a text message.

Each broken brick will display the name of the sender, who will receive a "digital certificate of participation in the destruction of the Berlin Wall 2009."

The sender will also be able to display this document on his or her Facebook profile.
Proceeds from this project will go to help fund campaigns carried out by Reporters Without Borders, the Paris-based organization formed to defend the freedom of the press.
