Current Google Insights trends: it's all about the World Cup and the iPhone 4

On June 14, the search terms with the most significant growth worldwide in the last seven days revolve around the iPhone 4 and the 2010 World Cup.

The term "iPhone 4" tops this week's list with the majority of searches originating from Singapore, Hong Kong, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Australia. Additional iPhone-related topics rank in fifth ("iPhone 4g") and tenth ("iPhone") places.

Terms related to the World Cup are climbing up the charts. The Chinese term for World Cup, "???," is in second place showing an increase of 650 percent, "World Cup" gained 300 percent over the week and is currently in fourth place, "World Cup 2010" gained 250 percent to sixth place, and "FIFA" is up 170 percent in seventh place.

Colombian pop star Shakira's official World Cup song, "Waka Waka ," is the third most searched for topic on Google Insights this week.

"Hotmail sign in" ranks at number eight on the charts, followed by the name of music television channel MTV in ninth place.
