Current Google Insights trends: Kentucky Derby, Mother's Day, 'Iron Man 2'

The name of thoroughbred horseracing event, the Kentucky Derby 2010, is the search term with the most significant growth worldwide over the last seven days on the morning of May 3.

The Kentucky Derby is held every year on the first Saturday of May in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, and is a major event on the US horse racing calendar.

In second place is the Turkish term for the Student Selection and Placement Center of Turkey, "ösym."

Searches for Mother's Day gift ideas and suggestions have put "Mothers Day" in third place. The second edition of the popular Iron Man action film franchise, Iron Man 2, is trending in fourth place, after being released last week in several countries.

"Pole Emploi" (French for "employment service") is in fifth place while the Turkish distance learning body, "aöf" is trending in sixth place. "Receita federal" ("Federal Tax Service" in Portuguese) ranks at number seven.

The front man of glam metal band Poison, Bret Michaels, is recovering from a a brain hemorrhage. Searches for the star have put his name in eighth position on the Google Insights chart.

In ninth and tenth places are the weather-related search terms, "Meteo France" and "BBC weather."

The search terms with the most significant growth worldwide in the last seven days as measured by Google Insights, recorded on May 3 at 10:30 AM GMT are:
