Current Twitter trends: Sun CEO tweets his resignation, modern haikus

A short post from Sun Microsystems CEO Jonathan Schwartz has taken Twitter by storm on the morning of February 4.

The February 4 post detailed the CEO's departure from the company. According to the New York Times, Schwartz is the first Fortune 200 CEO to tweet his resignation on the social networking site.

Not only did Schwartz post his resignation in less than 140 characters, the former Sun CEO composed his resignation letter in the form of a haiku.

"Today's my last day at Sun. I'll miss it. Seems only fitting to end on a #haiku. Financial crisis/Stalled too many customers/CEO no more" wrote Schwartz, spawning the trending terms "Haiku Style" and "Sun CEO Tweets His."

Apple's newest creation, the iPad, continues its run as one of the most talked about topics on Twitter on February 4. The term dropped one place overnight to sit comfortably in the fifth position.

"Over 2500" is trending after "OMG Facts" posted a message on their Twitter account saying, "Over 2500 left-handed people a year are killed from using equipment made for right-handed people." The fact was inspired by a 2008 article in the Mirror (http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-world/2008/05/30/scientists-calculate-odd-ways-to-die-115875-17495916/).
