Jo Moore story wins scoop of the year for 'Independent'

Independent journalists were yesterday honoured at the London Press Club's annual awards ceremony at Claridge's hotel.

The Independent's Barrie Clement and Andrew Grice won the Scoop of the Year Award while Jason Nisse, Business Editor of the Independent on Sunday, won the Business Journalist of the Year Award for his perceptive and authoritative work.

The Broadcasting Award was given to Orla Guerin, the BBC's Middle East correspondent. Ann Leslie of the Daily Mail won the Edgar Wallace prize for outstanding journalism.

Clement and Grice were honoured for revealing Jo Moore's memo following the 11 September attacks.
