NEARLY a quarter of the 2.5 million people with BSkyB satellite dishes say they are 'certain' to subscribe to the sports channel when it ceases to be free next month, according to a survey by Continental Research for the newsletter Satellite TV Finance. This would make the channel, with its live Premier League football, available in more than 600,000 homes. Another 21 per cent said they were 'very likely' or 'quite likely' to subscribe.
Continental Research believes that BSkyB will receive pounds 34m a year in sports channel subscriptions, which cost pounds 5.99 a month now that the pounds 2.99 special offer period has expired.
