Restaurant critic John Walsh wins top award

John Walsh, the acclaimed Independent writer, was last night named Restaurant Reviewer of the Year at the Guild of Food Writers annual awards.

Mr Walsh, whose reviews appear on Saturdays in The Independent Magazine, beat competition from Matthew Norman and Tracey MacLeod.
