The London edition of listings magazine Time Out is being relaunched as a free title.

More than 300,000 copies of the weekly magazine will be given away in the capital every week from this autumn, replacing the paid-for edition.

Editor-in-chief Tim Arthur said: "We will leap from 50,000 circulation to over 300,000, taking Time Out's unique editorial expertise to a huge new audience. We hope to inspire tens of thousands of Londoners to make the most of their Time Out."

The free edition will be handed out in stations, museums, shops and bars in an attempt to reach a wider audience.

Other editions of the magazine, including Time Out Paris, will remain as paid-for publications.

Time Out was founded in 1968 as a London listings magazine and now covers 37 cities in 25 different countries.
