Journalists strike over BBC cuts
BBC television and radio face disruption today as members of the National Union of Journalists walk out in a 24-hour strike.
The protest over compulsory redundancies was due to begin at midnight last night. A BBC spokesman said: "Industrial action will not alter the fact the BBC is faced with a number of potential compulsory redundancies, following significant cuts to central government grants."
