LABORATORY TESTS yesterday confirmed a headache pill rather than illegal drugs lay behind a positive test result for the former Home Office minister David Maclean. The Tory MP blamed a painkiller containing codeine for triggering the reading when he tested equipment at the conference of the Police Superintendents' Association.
