Murder charges

The former manager of a hostel for elderly men in Birmingham was last night charged with murdering a further two residents at the home. George Brittain, 65, is also accused of the attempted murder and wounding of two other men at the Summerhill residential home. He was last week charged with murdering two other pensioners following an eight-month police inquiry.
