A murder inquiry witness appeared in court yesterday accused of threatening police with a shotgun. David Willoway, 31, of Bettws, near Bridgend, was seen on security video leaving a Maesteg pub with Helen Martin, 18, and is the last known person to have seen her alive.
Helen's battered body was found four days later 60 miles way at Symonds Yat, Herefordshire. Willoway told police he gave her a lift and dropped her off safely near her home.
Yesterday he was remanded in custody until May 21 by Bridgend magistrates, accused of firearms offences. A team of detectives is continuing inquiries into Helen's murder.
