Man accused of butchering wife

A 26-year-old taxi driver charged with the murder of his heavily- pregnant wife, whose dismembered body was found at four sites in the Ribble Valley, was remanded in custody. Javed Iqbal, of Milner Street, Burnley, Lancashire, appeared before the town's magistrates over the killing of Shaheeda Bi, 22, the mother of two young children. Police said she had been strangled.
