Several people have scaled the walls surrounding Althorp Estate in an attempt to reach the Princess of Wales's grave, it was reported last night.

But police said they knew nothing of the intrusions at Northamptonshire estate which have been thwarted by estate staff. David Horton-Fawkes, the estate security manager, said security was a problem and more money would have to be spent.
