Two prison officers were last night being held hostage by three prisoners at Glenochil Prison in Central Scotland.

The incident started shortly before 4.30pm. The Scottish Prison Service said trained negotiators had been brought in to try to resolve the situation.

The staff were being held in the prison's C Hall which houses adult prisoners serving between four years and life.
