Your obituary of John Coleman [by Ken Osborne, 29 August] states that Bishop Hassan Dehqani-Tafti "fled into exile". He did not, writes John Clark. He had left the country to attend a meeting of the Heads of Churches of the Anglican Communion in Cyprus, during which his son was murdered. They unanimously advised him not to return, advice which after much heart-searching he followed, so as to continue his work as President Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East and bishop in Iran in exile.
