Well if it isn’t the king of stylised violence.

Yes, Quentin Tarantino’s been the talk of Hollywood this week.

He’s got a controversial new film with fast dialogue to promote?

Sadly not. But he might be about to embark his own real-life bloodbath. The Oscar-winning director has reluctantly dropped his latest project, a Western called 'The Hateful Eight', after the script was mysteriously leaked.

Ooh, I love a good old-fashioned whodunit…

Tarantino said he only gave the script to six people, including three actors, one of whom was Tim Roth, who appeared in 'Reservoir Dogs' and 'Pulp Fiction'.

Ah ha, so we have a suspect!

No, that was just a red herring. “The one I know didn’t do this is Tim Roth,” Tarantino said. “One of the others let their agent read it, and that agent has now passed it on to everyone in Hollywood.” He said he felt “very, very depressed” by this betrayal and it had has left him with no desire to make the film.

But what about the money?

He probably won’t be applying for a Wonga loan any time soon. 'Django Unchained', which won best original screenplay at last year’s Oscars, was Tarantino’s biggest ever box-office hit, raking in £258 million worldwide.

That’s a whole lot of Royales with Cheese.

Quite. However, in a stunning dramatic twist he went on to reveal: “I could totally change my mind… It’s my baby”.

The plot thickens…

Yes. One thing’s for sure though: you don’t want to rub this man up the wrong way. When Channel 4’s Krishnan Guru-Murthy tried to engage him in a debate about violence in films last year, Tarantino lost his temper, exclaiming, “I am shutting your butt down”. One can only imagine the colourful ways he’ll choose to unleash his wrath if the identity of the 'Hateful Eight' culprit is ever exposed.
