50 Cent has defended himself after making a series of sexist comments against a former girlfriend who appeared to imply he is gay.

Vivica A Fox, who is guest-starring on season 2 of Empire, responded to claims made by the rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, that the hip-hop drama’s drop in ratings was due storylines focusing on “gay stuff”.

When asked what she made of his comments, she said “You know, [it’s] the pot calling the kettle black, is all I’m saying.”

Host Andy Cohen tried clarifying her statement, causing her to say “we had a great time. He just seems like he’s got something that not’s quite clear,” while gesticulating wildly.

She also said she was suspicious of a magazine cover Jackson did with fellow rapper Soulja Boy, saying he looked like “a booty snatcher”.

Jackson responded by posting a series of comments on Instagram, making claims about their sex lives and directing a torrent of sexist abuse at the actress.

He mocked Fox for having a “really bad boob job” and posted an unflattering photo, before suggesting she had a feud with Halle Berry while they were dating.

“Get your old a** out of here looking for attention. You the man lol” he said.

Jackson’s initial comments regarding Empire saw him blame the 18 percent drop in rating on the show’s homosexual storyline focusing on musician Jamal Lyons.

50 Cent appears in court to deny kciking his ex-girlfriend

He said: “There are 3 million less [sic] viewers who tuned into last night’s Empire episode!!!! did you watch it? We could not take the extra gay stuff or celebrity stuff last night!!!!” - although the post was later taken down.

A spokesperson for Jackson said: “Mr. Jackson reposted something on Instagram that originated from a blog in relation to the decrease in Empire's ratings.

“When he realized there was additional content in the blog post that he did not agree with, he immediately deleted the post as that is not a reflection of his views at all.”
