Let us always be thankful for Amy Schumer and her dedication to undermining the veneer of perfection propagated by the seemingly flawless members of Hollywood’s elite and their red carpet appearances.

This week, while Instagram was flooded with images of actors and models preparing for the day with teams of make-up artists and surrounded by healthy snacks and champagne, Schumer shared a video of her answer to chafing as she prepared for the annual Met Gala.

“No thigh gap? No problem”, explained the comedian, with a video of her own chafe prevention system.

Schumer was dressed by Alexander Wang for the Met Ball, where this year’s theme was Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.

She also shared a video suggesting her day of preparation was a tad more fun than some of her Met Gala counterparts.

The Gala was chaired by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and hosted by Taylor Swift, with tickets to the invitation-only event costing a reported £20,5000. Proceeds are donated to the museum’s costume institute.

Meanwhile, Madonna had an excellent riposte to critics who suggested the Queen of Pop had erred in her sartorial choice by wearing something too revealing.
