Mr Gavin Hewitt, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia.

Sir Patrick Duffy, to be Deputy Chairman of the Atlantic Council of the United Kingdom.

Mr Jonathan Richard Barr Geake, to be a circuit judge on the Northern Circuit.

Mr John Crosby and Mr Colin George, to be members of the Legal Aid Board for a period of three years. Mr David Sinker, reappointed a member of the Legal Aid Board for a further two years.

Sir Robert Shields, to be President of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Professor C. Prys-Roberts, to be President of the Royal College of Anesthetists.

Dr Peter Morris and Professor Richard Ellis, to be Vice-Presidents of the Royal College of Anesthetists.

Baroness Cox and Professor Denis Pereira Gray, to be governing trustees of the Nuffield Provincial Hospitals Trust.
