Mr Terence Wood, to be Head of the UK Delegation to the negotiations on Conventional Arms Control in Europe at Vienna.

Mr PJ Goulden, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey.

Sir Brian Fall, Ambassador at Moscow, to be additionally Ambassador (non-resident) to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Mr William Matthew, to be a Circuit Judge assigned to the Midland and Oxford Circuit.

Mr Christopher John Holland QC and Mr Stephen John Sedley QC, to be Justices of the High Court.

Mr John Edmund Fredric Lindsay QC, to be a Justice of the High Court, assigned to the Chancery Division.

Mrs Anthea Jane Chesmer Brazier, to be a joint District Judge at the Oldham, Stockport and Tameside County Courts and in the District Registry of the High Court at Oldham.

Mr Ian James Pickup, to be a joint District Judge at the Burnley, Blackburn, Accrington and Nelson County Courts and in the District Registry of the High Court at Burnley and Blackburn.
