Mr John Pitts, reappointed as Chairman of the Legal Aid Board, with effect from 3 May 1993, for a further period of two years.

Mr TJG Pratt, Deputy Treasury Solicitor, to be Second Speaker's Counsel.

Mr Brian John Allinson Smith to be a district judge at the Yeovil, Axminster and Chard and Shaftesbury County Courts and the District Registry of the High Court of Yeovil.

Mr David Macleod Robertson to be a district judge at the Newcastle upon Tyne group of county courts and the District Registry of the High Court at Newcastle upon Tyne, Teeside, Hartlepool and Darlington.
