Beyoncé was mocked by social media users after making the "boring'" announcement that she followed a vegan diet.

Her much-hyped interview on Good Morning America teased that she had a "big announcement", leading many to speculate about the possibility of a new album, tour, or a second pregnancy.

However, the singer - who was recently eating burgers in the video for Feeling Myself with Nicki Minaj - went on to extol the virtues of a vegan diet.

Veganism involves a largely plant-based diet, excluding meat, eggs, dairy and other animal products.

"I'm not naturally the thinnest woman. I have curves," Beyoncé said. "I have struggled since a young age with diets. Finding something that actually works and keeps the weight off has been difficult for me."

To make matters more disappointing for fans, this isn't even the first time Beyoncé's been known to eat vegan, as she followed a 21-day vegan plan in 2014.

Fans were not thrilled by the news. Some of them - who had called in sick to be able to watch the announcement live - had some choice words for the singer.
