A woman who allegedly broke into Chris Brown’s home and stayed there for several days has been charged with burglary, stalking and vandalism.

The singer said the woman had cooked herself meals, damaged his cars and wrote “I love you” on the walls after discovering her in his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

In post on Instagram which has since been deleted, the singer said she had broken the hinges off the doors and painted her name on his car.

Brown was criticised for publicly shaming the woman by posting the message on Instagram and sharing a picture of her with his nine million followers.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office confirmed to the Associated Press that a 21-year-old woman had been charged.

Brown did not respond to AP’s request for comment.
