ST JAMES'S PALACE

21 January: The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Army Air Corps, this morning received Brigadier Edward Tait upon relinquishing his appointment as Commander Aviation United Kingdom Land Forces and Brigadier Denzil Sharp upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in- Chief, The Army Air Corps, afterwards received Brigadier Peter McQueen upon assuming the appointment of Commander Aviation, British Army of the Rhine.

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, later received the Secretary of the Duchy of Cornwall (Mr John James).

KENSINGTON PALACE

21 January: The Duchess of Gloucester today visited the West Midlands and was received on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for the West Midlands (Mr Robert Taylor).

Her Royal Highness visited Solihull Council for Voluntary Services in Homer Road and later visited Warren Pearl Marie Curie Centre and opened the Hoskins-Collins Day Centre, Warwick Road, Solihull. Afterwards The Duchess of Gloucester visited Old Swinford Hospital and opened the new school boarding house, Stourbridge, West Midlands.

The Lady Camoys was in attendance.

Changing of the Guard

TODAY: The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 7 Company Coldstream Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Scots Guards. TOMORROW: The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 10am.

Windsor Castle

TODAY and TOMORROW: The Precincts at Windsor Castle open between 10am and 4pm, and the State Apartments between 10.30am and 3pm.
