BUCKINGHAM PALACE

23 September: The Princess Royal, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this afternoon opened the Sauchieburn Centre, Sauchie Estate, Bannockburn, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Stirling and Falkirk (Colonel James Stirling of Garden).

Her Royal Highness, President, Save the Children Fund, later opened the new Scottish Education Office at Jordanhill and was received by Her Majesty's Lord- Lieutenant for the City of Glasgow (Mr James Shields, the Right Hon the Lord Provost).

The Princess Royal, Patron, SENSE - the National Deaf Blind and Rubella Association, afterwards visited SENSE Scotland, Unit 5/2, 8 Elliott Place, Glasgow.

Her Royal Highness this evening opened the Scottish European Masters Showjumping Championships at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Glasgow.

KENSINGTON PALACE

23 September: The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, National Asthma Campaign, was present at the Ascot Charity Race Day, Ascot Racecourse, Royal County of Berkshire.

Mrs Michael Wigley was in attendance.

YORK HOUSE

23 September: The Duchess of Kent, this morning presided at Writtle College's Graduation Ceremony, Chelmsford Cathedral, Chelmsford, Essex, and was met on arrival by Mr John Norris (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Essex).

Mrs Julian Tomkins was in attendance.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

Princess Margaret today attends the Festival of British Racing Day and presents the Queen's Trophy for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire. Princess Alexandra today attends the official opening of the Christian Centre for the Whole Community and lays a Foundation Stone for the St Matthias Hall Complex at Holy Trinity Church, London SW2.

TODAY: The State Apartments at Buckingham Palace open 9.30am-4.30pm. The Queen's Gallery opens 10am-5pm, last admission 4.30pm. TOMORROW: The State Apartments open 9.30am-4.30pm. The Queen's Gallery opens 2pm-5pm, last admission 4.30pm.
