BUCKINGHAM PALACE

4 December: The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, today attended the Two Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary Celebrations of The Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire) in Reading and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr John Henderson).

Captain Edward Bearcroft was in attendance.

5 December: The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel, Grenadier Guards, this afternoon attended the Laying Up of the Colours of the 2nd Battalion at St Margaret's Church, Westminster, London SW1.

Captain Giles Inglis-Jones was in attendance.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Prince of Wales, Honorary President, Royal Academy Trust, attends a dinner given in honour of Sir Roger de Grey to celebrate his Presidency at the Royal Academy of Arts, London W1; and as President, The Prince's Trust, The Prince's Youth Business Trust, Business in the Community, Scottish Business in the Community and The Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust, hosts a reception at St James's Palace. The Princess of Wales names the first Airbus A340 aircraft for Virgin Atlantic Airways at Heathrow Airport, London. Prince Edward, Trustee and Chairman, International Council of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award International Foundation, visits New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Francisco, United States of America. Princess Alexandra, Patron, attends a 'Celebration of Christmas' Concert in aid of the New Bridge at St Margaret's Church, Westminster, London SW1.
