11 September: The Princess of Wales this morning received Captain Paul Branscombe RN upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer HMS Cornwall and Captain Tom Blackburn RN upon assuming the appointment, at Kensington Palace.

11 September: The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Pioneer Corps, today received Brigadier Charles Telfer, Director of Army Pioneers and Labour.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Duchess of Gloucester, as Commandant-in- Chief, St John Ambulance Wales, today opens the Welsh Cadet Forum at South Glamorgan County Council Headquarters, Cardiff; attends a luncheon at Mansion House; visits Barry Inshore Rescue Division, Barry Island; as Patron, Bobath Centre, visits the newly opened Bobath Cymru, Cardiff; and later visits St John Ambulance Barry Inshore Rescue Division. Princess Michael of Kent, as Patron of Helen House Hospice, today attends a Service of Thanksgiving at Christ Church, Oxford, to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Founding of the Hospice. Princess Michael of Kent tomorrow attends a Charity Gala Performance at the Palais des Beaux Arts, Brussels.
