David Cameron has called Russell Brand "a joke" after his opposite number, Labour leader Ed Miliband, was spotted visiting the outspoken comedian's home.

A spokesperson from the Labour party said Miliband went to Brand's property, where the comedian runs his satirical YouTube channel The Trews, to record an interview.

However, many speculated that Brand may endorse the Labour party at the 11th hour, despite having previously told people not to engage in the voting process.

He added, "Don't listen to Russell Brand, get out there with your stubby pencil!"

People on Twitter were quick to either agree with the Prime Minister's stance on the controversial Brand, or to mock the Conservative leader's ties to another well known media personalities:
