As Danaerys Targaryen on HBO’s Game Of Thrones, she’s had to learn complex fictional languages including Dothraki and High Valyrian.

But now Emilia Clarke has mastered another linguistic trick – the Valley Girl accent.

The actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her new film Terminator: Genisys when she explained that she had to adopt the accent when she was in a Home Depot buying an air conditioner.

Accompanying her was her Terminator co-star Jai Courtney, but the two went incognito, with Emilia stuffing her hair under a hat.

“So I put this cap on and I thought it would be a really good idea to do an American accent because I thought people might clock me less,” Emilia said.

“It was late so my American accent from Terminator kinda changed a little bit to Callie from the Valley. She’s like this whole situation.”

Emilia admitted she was inspired by her love of cult teen film Clueless, and by the sounds of things, her espionage went off without a hitch.

Watch the clip below, and don’t be, like, totally surprised if Cali lingo starts cropping up in the next season of Game Of Thrones…
