Since Jeremy Clarkson's exit, there’s almost as many contenders for the Top Gear presenting jobs than there are claimants for the Iron Throne.
But Suzi Perry, the BBC’s F1 correspondent, is the latest person rumoured to be involved.
Appearing on This Morning, Perry was asked outright by Phillip Schofield: “is it yours?” to which she replied “It’s nobodies, it’s Chris’s. It’s down to Chris, and it’s down to BBC Two.”
She admitted later though that she had been approached, but suggested it was down to her already being at the BBC.
“You know what it’s like when you work for a channel, you have conversations … But we don’t know what’s going to happen with that show.”
But when she was asked if she was “in the mix” for a position on the show when it returns next year, she said: “I believe so…”

Perry pointed out that she wouldn’t be leaving her F1 presenting role, and that being away 20 weeks a year meant fitting in everything would be a bit of a squeeze.
After being hired as the new Top Ger host following Clarkson’s sacking, Chris Evans said there would definitely be a woman on the line-up.
“I think there has to be,” he said. “There is a huge amount of female presenting talent in the motoring industry and it would be silly for them not to be represented.”
