Game of Thrones season 6: Barack Obama granted special access to spoilers after personal request
'When the commander-in-chief says 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you gonna do?'
In testament to his supremacy, Barack Obama has been granted access to the much-coveted season six Game of Thrones spoilers.
In an interview at the Hollywood premier of Game of Thrones, the two showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, revealed that the American president had been allowed a sneak peek at the series.
Interviewer Veronica Belmont asked the pair whether they’d had any particular stand-out highlights. “Have you had any major aha moments — like ‘Oh my god we totally made it’ — now that you’ve come into season six and the show is just so incredibly big and popular?”

Show all 30To which Weiss replied, “I think, for both of us, finding out the President wanted advanced copies of the episodes was an 'aha' moment. That was a very strange moment.”
“Yes,” Weiss added. “He’s the leader of the free world.”
“When the commander-in-chief says 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you gonna do?” Benioff chipped in.
This is by no means the first time there has been talk of Obama’s fixation with Game of Thrones. In a recent interview with Vulture, Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth, referred to the Democrat’s special access.
“Did you know he gets advance copies? POTUS. He gets DVD copies before we do. And we're in it!” the actor exclaimed.
