After playing a show for his fans, Chance the Rapper led his fans through Downtown Chicago to vote

While many performers mark the end of the show with an after show party, after playing a gig on election eve Chance the Rapper decided to lead his fans to the polls.

The 23-year-old rapper led a procession of fans through his hometown of Chicago at about 6pm on Monday night to an early voting super centre, reports ABC 7. He could be seen walking amid the crowds, which he says reached into the thousands.

He was also filmed going in to cast his vote and was met with screaming and cheering fans when he emerged.

Chance had been playing a free concert called ‘Parade to the Polls’ in the city marking his second bit of high-profile political campaigning in recent days.

A vocal Hillary Clinton supporter, he joined Beyonce and Jay Z in Ohio to perform at a rally for the Democrat candidate on Friday. He has previously denounced Donald Trump on Twitter admitting is “so damn scared” of the Republican candidate.

Earlier this year, Chance teamed up with the NAACP to encourage people of colour to “stay woke and vote”. This included giving fans opportunities to register to vote during the many stops of his world tour.

Last month, Chance was invited to the White House for this year’s State Dinner by Barack Obama, who earlier this year named him his favourite rapper along with Kendrick Lamar.
