Kesha has thanked her supporters after a number of high-profile singers, actors and producers backed the singer in her case against Dr Luke.

A judge ruled Kesha could not terminate her contract with Sony and Dr Luke, real name Lukas Gottwald, who she claims psychologically tormented her and raped her a decade ago after allegedly drugging her with a pill which knocked her out. Dr Luke has strenuously denied the allegations since they were first made against him and is countersuing her for defamation.

On Monday, he issued a statement through his lawyers which labelled the allegations “outright lies that have been advanced to extort a contract renegotiation and money”. He also said he had been subject to a “vicious smear campaign to ruin his reputation for financial gain”.

Dr Luke shared 20 tweets reiterating his denial, claiming any allegations have been motivated by money.

Taylor Swift donated $250,000 to her help cover the cost of Kesha's legal fees and the singer Demi Lovato shared an essay calling for female empowerment through women standing together. Producers such as Jack Antonoff also offered to work with her on music.

Kesha responded to this support and the messages she has received from her fans in a statement on Instagram.

“I am beyond words in gratitude,” she wrote. “Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. a million times over and forever thank you. the support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. I love you all so much. A statement too large for this format is coming.”

Her statement comes after talk show host Wendy Williams appeared to question why Kesha did not record any alleged abuse.
