Kim Cattrall claims Sex and the City was the reason her marriage ended

While Samantha was a character adored by thousands of women for her unapologetic sexuality, independence and fiery one-liners, Kim Cattrall has said the Sex and the City role came at a personal cost.
The actress attributes the role she undertook for six years as the reason her marriage to her ex-husband Mark Levinson ended in a divorce.
“It [Sex and the City] cost me my marriage because I was never home,” the 60-year-old told news.com.au. “I was never there and my husband got lonely and upset and competitive and it was really difficult, it was really hard.
“You end up spending more time with my Sex and the City family than I did with my real family.”
Cattrall and Levinson, the actresses’ third husband, married in 1998, one year after she was cast in the hit show, the couple divorced in 2004.
Cattrall was married twice before and has never had children. Last year, she told BBC Radio 4 she finds the term ‘childless’ offensive as it implies “you’re ‘less’ because you haven’t had a child”.
She said she considers herself a mother in many other ways, such as to the young actors and actresses she mentors and the nieces and nephews she is close to.
