Mary Berry beats Jennifer Lopez in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World list

The Great British Bake Off star was just one place behind Angelina Jolie

Mary Berry can be much saucier than you might think

Perhaps it’s the way she ices her sticky buns. The flick of her wrists as she tenderly kneads her pastry. Or the icy blue glint in her eyes when she fills her choux with cream.

Whatever it is, Mary Berry, the 80-year-old star of The Great British Bake Off, successfully beat Jennifer Lopez and model Daisy Lowe to feature on FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World list at Number 74.

The queen of domestic innuendo landed just one place behind UN Ambassdor and possessor of ‘The Leg’ Angelina Jolie, and just six places behind Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

“Every year there is at least one shock, but this is probably one of the biggest we’ve ever had,” an FHM source told The Sun.

“There are sometimes internet campaigns to get unlikely people on to the list. One year we had a cartoon character from Family Guy, but I think Mary Berry has got to be the strangest yet.”

The source said that Berry’s inclusion had originally been intended as an “hilarious” ageist joke, but the votes quickly started pouring in for the veteran TV star.

This year’s winner was far less likely to be seen anywhere near a kitchen – let alone a show-stopping multi-tiered sponge.

Soap star Michelle Keegan, formerly of Coronation Street fame, claimed the top spot.
