Michelle DuBarry named world's oldest performing drag artist
The 84-year-old - real name Russell Alldread - has been dressing up in women's clothes since she was a child

Michelle DuBarry has been dressing up in women’s clothes for as long as she can remember.
When she was a child in Canada - DuBarry’s real name is Russell Alldread - she performed with her two sisters. She donned women’s clothes and sang at Christmas parties and local hospitals. Her family were always very supportive.

“Never any trouble at all,” DuBarry told the Toronto Star. “My dad was a blacksmith welder and he was so damn busy with making a living and coming in and having a bath, and my mother was a nurse so she was very supportive.”
Decades later, DuBarry is still dressing up. This week it was revealed the 84-year-old has been named as the World’s oldest performing drag artist by Guinness World Records.
“Michelle represents an era that I grew up, the Dynasty era, because she’s all furs, gowns and diamonds,” said DuBarry’s friend Max MacDonald.
“That’s what set her apart.”
