A Muslim journalist shut down a Fox News pundit for her “entitled and arrogant” view of Syrian refugees.

Noor Tagouri clashed with Jessie Jane Duff, a regular Fox military analyst when they both appeared on Fox’s sister channel in Washington DC, WTTG.

Ms Tagouri began the debate by pointing out that 750,000 refugees had been settled in the US since 2001 but none of them had been arrested on suspicion of domestic terrorism.

But Ms Duff was not convinced and claimed there was a risk a Syrian refugee could be a “Trojan horse” for Isis.

She cited reports that a Syrian passport was found on the body of one of the suspected terrorists who carried out the attacks in Paris last week.

Although the terrorist is likely to have travelled through Greece claiming to be a refugee, his identity is unknown and there is no evidence that he was a Syrian citizen.

Ms Duff claimed that taking the proposed 10,000 Syrians would cost the American taxpayer $1.6bn and dismissed comparisons with the Jews fleeing Nazi persecution during the Second World War.

But Ms Tagouri denounced Ms Duff’s attitude and said rejecting refugees out of fear was exactly what Isis wants.

Trump on Syrain refugees, 'they could be Isis, they could be anybody'

She said: “This is exactly what Isis wants. This is such a shame that we’re talking like this.

“For us to sit here and continuously feed into this idea of what Isis wants to believe, which is what you’re doing.

“They are literally sitting laughing at us because we’re having this discussion.

“I think it’s entitled and arrogant because this isn’t how America’s foundation was built.”
