Canadian pop singer Avril Lavigne has quashes rehab rumours

Pop star Avril Lavigne has taken to Twitter to rubbish rumours that she is going to rehab.

She told her 17 million followers on the micro blogging site that she found the rumours “hilarious” but said that the only thing she is addicted to at the moment is Bing Crosby, in reference to his song White Christmas.

The tweet was in response to stories that the singer was suffering from undisclosed health problems.

Earlier this month the 30-year-old Sk8ter Boi singer thanked her fans on Twitter for their get well messages, saying in a tweet, “I appreciate the lovely notes and well wishes from everyone.”

The concern was further fuelled after @AvrilMusicChart, a Twitter fan account dedicated to the Canadian pop rock princess posted, "From a fan #GetWellSoonAvril #PrayForAvril".

However, it appears that the star is in fact good health from her tweet.

The Independent has approached a representative for Avril Lavigne for comment.
