Relationships: The sad ending of a Hollywood double act

The news that Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are separating after 30 years of marriage has shaken many Hollywood-watchers to the core.
While younger, more naive stars got married and divorced quicker than most people change jobs, here were two who were built to last. For what they lacked in height, they made up for in stature as a rare example of a successful marriage between two actors.
But if these two can't make it work, who can? Those seeking comfort in this dark time will have to look to the likes of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, and Michael J Fox and Tracy Pollan, all of whom are celebrating their 24-year anniversaries this year.
We can be thankful that one of the most rock-solid acting partnerships still remains. Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara – known for both acting and producing (as parents) Ben Stiller – have been together for 58 years. That is the Hollywood ending everyone is hoping for.
